The president of the Italian Union Assembly, Maurizio Tremul, told Hina the purpose of the visit was for the Italian minority to seek support from the Italian state and parties.
The head of the Italian delegation, Renato Brunetta, Forza Italia's representative in the European Parliament and Berlusconi's advisor on economic issues, said he wanted to gain an insight into
the process of Croatia's integration with the EU and the role of the Italian minority in that process, and see how his party could help Croatia.
The Italian delegation will also visit Rovinj on Sunday.
