received assurances from competent bodies of the Bosnian Serbentity's authorities that their requests would be met.
BANJA LUKA, March 1 (Hina) - Over a hundred convicts in the Tunjice
prison in the northwestern Bosnian city of Banja Luka who started a riot on
Monday evening, ended their mutiny on Tuesday afternoon after they received
assurances from competent bodies of the Bosnian Serb entity's authorities that
their requests would be met.According to the protesters, the prison riot was not politically
motivated. They only insisted on the dismissal of jail guards and governor whom
they accused of inhumane treatment and harassment of inmates.
They also asked for the improvement of conditions in this penitentiary
institution.
