A memorandum of understanding for the institutional implementation of the project was signed in Zagreb on Friday by the Croatian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Petar Cobankovic, and the representative of the German Society for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) for Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, Andreas Clausing.
The end result of the project will be the protection of original wines and meat products, such as paprika-flavoured sausage known as kulen and prosciutto, and adjustment to European Union standards in this sector, Cobankovic said.
Clausing said that the primary goal of the project was to increase the competitiveness of the Croatian food sector ahead of the country's EU entry.
