Speaking about Assistant Health Minister Neven Ljubicic, who has been nominated to the post of Health Minister, currently held by Andrija Hebrang, Sanader said that Ljubicic had demonstrated great competence and knowledge of the health care system.
The candidate for the post of Deputy Prime Minister in charge of the economy, currently held by Hebrang, is Damir Polancec, who for the past five years has been a member of the Podravka food company's management board.
"Now that we have brought Croatia to the door of the European Union, we must strengthen its economy. The new deputy prime minister will not have a separate sector, he will be in charge of activities aimed at improving living standards, which is the main goal of this government, along with admission to the EU," Sanader said.
Introducing former European Integration Minister Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic, who has been nominated to the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Sanader commended her work, particularly her promotion of Croatia's EU integration.
Sanader thanked Minister Hebrang and former Foreign Minister Miomir Zuzul, who will continue their career as members of parliament.
Sanader called on MPs to support the proposed government reshuffle and the new ministers.
