BELGRADE, Feb 15 (Hina) - Some circles in the armed forces of Serbiaand Montenegro know the whereabouts of Bosnian Serb wartime militarycommander Ratko Mladic, one of the fugitives most wanted by the UN warcrimes tribunal in The Hague, the former US ambassador to Belgrade,William Montgomery, told Belgrade B92 radio on Tuesday.
BELGRADE, Feb 15 (Hina) - Some circles in the armed forces of Serbia and Montenegro know the whereabouts of Bosnian Serb wartime military commander Ratko Mladic, one of the fugitives most wanted by the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague, the former US ambassador to Belgrade, William Montgomery, told Belgrade B92 radio on Tuesday.

Montgomery said that no one could say with certainty that Mladic was hiding in Serbia or that Croatian army general Ante Gotovina was in Croatia, but that he believed that the army was helping Mladic in evading justice.

Montgomery said he could not say more than that. He added that he was not accusing anyone from the government or the military leadership, but that he was certain that some individuals in the army know where Mladic was hiding.
