The two presidents held talks in Brdo Pri Kranju, Slovenia, assessing Skopje-Ljubljana relations as friendly and close. They also discussed the situation in the region.
Asked by the press if Macedonia's ambition to enter the European Union by 2010 was realistic, Drnovsek said that depended primarily on its political stability because this attracted foreign investment. He wished Macedonia to succeed in its EU integration, saying there was no alternative.
Asked if Slovenia might alleviate its visa regime for Macedonians, Drnovsek said Slovenia would respect the EU's visa requirements.
Crvenkovski arrived in Slovenia today for a two-day visit. He is also scheduled to meet other senior officials.
