"This year we remember the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the survivors of the infamous Auschwitz concentration camp. The Holocaust Day is an occasion to state that anti-Semitism, xenophobia, extremism, exclusiveness, radicalism, intolerance and political violence cannot be tolerated.
"It is particularly important that those terrible crimes are not forgotten, because history does not end with the departure of generations which lived it.
I therefore want to state today that all Croatian citizens should contribute to the common goal of building and cherishing democracy and dialogue in our society which we want to develop in line with the values of modern democratic Europe," Sanader said in the message.
