Under the plan, which was presented by European Integration Minister Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, Parliament is expected to adopt 36 so-called European acts this year expected to adjust Croatian legislation to EU standards.
Parliament is also expected to adopt 168 regulations and 135 measures from the Stabilisation and Association Agreement Implementation Plan.
The minister said the number of those documents was not final. She added the Government would revise the national programme this year and, if necessary, move additional acts.
The legislation adjustment plan is expected to cost 1.6 billion kuna this year, nearly two billion in 2006 and 2.1 billion in 2007. Most of the total amount to be set aside over the next three years, about 2.5 billion kuna, will go to science and research.
The minister said that with the national programme Croatia expressed its readiness to meet all short- and long-term political, economic and other European criteria, with an emphasis on this year.
She added the key to successfully adapting to EU legal standards was the reform of state administration, which she said envisaged the establishment of new or the strengthening and adjustment of existing institutions to EU standards.
