Seks said that by amending the law on the election of members in the bodies of local and regional self-government units, the Croatian parliament adopted his amendments according to which members of national minorities with the real place of residence were able to vote at local elections.
"Now it is necessary to expand this to all citizens. A bill has been drafted and it will be sent to parliamentary procedure in the near future," Seks said.
Commenting on President Stjepan Mesic's statement that Croats in Bosnia-Herzegovina should be stripped off their right to vote at presidential and parliamentary elections in Croatia, Seks said that even though Croatia's Constitution had been changed four times, that regulation was never brought into question.
A broad public debate about that should be held and all arguments considered, Seks said.
Seks also announced amendments to the law on presidential elections.
