The officials agreed that a consortium of Croatian companies should join in the process of modernisation of Moldova's power supply system and railway infrastructure.
Minister Vukelic, who was heading a delegation of Croatian state officials and business people visiting Moldova, discussed with his hosts the need to increase relatively low bilateral trade, as well as positive changes which Moldova's membership of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) is expected to bring about.
Moldova is expected to join the Central European free trade zone in Bucharest on December 19.
Vukelic and members of the Croatian delegation also took part in an economic forum which discussed the possibility of increasing trade and the possible participation of Croatian companies in investment, notably infrastructure projects in Moldova.
In the first nine months of this year, trade between the two countries amounted to USD7.1 million, 11 percent up from the same period last year. Of that amount, Croatian exports amounted to USD1.6 million and imports from Moldova 5.5 million.
