The purpose of the conference on the role of competition law and policy in the EU and Croatia, held in the Rijeka City Hall, was to inform business people, local public institutions, consumer protection bodies, lawyers and the academic community about the benefits of market competition, including lower prices, better products, a wider choice for consumers and more efficient businesses, the European Commission Delegation to Croatia said in a press release.
The conference was organised within the framework of the CARDS project "Further Strengthening of the Croatian Competition Agency and Implementation of Competition Law and Policy" and in cooperation with the City of Rijeka, the Croatian Competition Agency, the Rijeka County Chamber of Commerce and the Rijeka Law School.
The project aims to improve the implementation and enforcement of competition law and policy at all levels of government and by all regulatory bodies, the court system and market economy actors.
