ZAGREB, Dec 7 (Hina) - Croatian Army Major Boris Seric left Zagreb on Thursday to join the UN mission in India and Pakistan as a military observer, the Ministry of Defence said in a press release.

Croatia has been active in the UN Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) since August 2002 and currently has seven military observers in the mission.

The UNMOGIP mission was launched in January 1949 following a dispute between India and Pakistan over the status of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The purpose of the mission is to monitor the line of control that was established in 1972.
