SARAJEVO, Nov 11 (Hina) - The international community's High
Representative for Bosnia-Herzegovina, Christian Schwarz-Schilling, on Saturday
evening warned the Bosnian Serb entity Prime Minister, Milorad Dodik, to stop
exerting pressure on the judiciary and enable judges and prosecutors in
Republika Srpska to do their job without political interference. The
statement issued by the OHR in Sarajevo pointed to Dodik's recent announcement
that he would cut the salaries to judges and prosecutors saying that they are
too high. The OHR believe this represented a path leading towards halting the
fight against crime.
Dodik said earlier he would cut the salaried to judges and prosecutors
by 30 percent because "they were not doing a good job".
The PM also threatened that his entity would discontinue cooperation
with the High Judge and Prosecutors's Council.
