ZAGREB, Oct 26 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic said
during talks with High Representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina Christian
Schwarz-Schilling in Zagreb on Thursday that steps should be made to enable
Bosnia-Herzegovina to function and survive as a united state, which he said
called for strengthening central state institutions, the President's Office
said in a statement. President Mesic informed the international
community's representative in the neighbouring country about his position on
the situation in Bosnia, underlining the need to find a solution for changes to
the country's constitution.
The two officials also discussed the planned closure of the office of
the High Representative in mid 2007.
Schwarz-Schilling said he fully agreed with President Mesic's views,
adding that advice from statesmen in the region, including Mesic, were valuable
to him in performing his duties.
