ZAGREB, Nov 3 (Hina) - The Bishop of Pozega, Antun Skvorcevic, and the Chief Rabbi of the Jewish "Bet Israel" community in Croatia, Kotel Da Don, have met to discuss a joint approach in showing respect for all innocent victims killed
in the Jasenovac World War Two concentration camp and relations between the Catholic Church and the Jewish community in Croatia, Catholic news agency IKA reported on Friday.
ZAGREB, Nov 3 (Hina) - The Bishop of Pozega, Antun Skvorcevic, and
the Chief Rabbi of the Jewish "Bet Israel" community in Croatia, Kotel Da Don,
have met to discuss a joint approach in showing respect for all innocent
victims killed in the Jasenovac World War Two concentration camp and relations
between the Catholic Church and the Jewish community in Croatia, Catholic news
agency IKA reported on Friday. The meeting took place "in a cordial
and open atmosphere" in the Secretariat of the Croatian Bishops' Conference in
Zagreb on Thursday, IKA said. Also under discussion was the Jewish heritage in
the Pozega diocese.
The Ustasha-run Jasenovac camp was located in the territory of the
Pozega diocese, about 100 kilometres southeast of Zagreb.
