DJAKOVO, Oct 19 (Hina) - The 33rd plenary session of the Croatian
Bishops' Conference, held in the eastern Croatian town of Djakovo, focused on
some aspects of Croatia's joining Euro-Atlantic associations and a document
with conclusions from the meeting is being drafted, a news conference heard on
Thursday, Bishops also talked about establishing a Croatian Catholic
University, saying that the Croatian Bishops' Conference had decided to
establish the Croatian Catholic University at its session in Zadar in 1994. The
founder is the Zagreb Archdiocese and the sponsor is the Bishops' Conference.
Bishops said the university could be opened during the academic year
2007/2008.
Although this topic was not on the agenda of the 33rd autumn session,
bishops reiterated their position about Sunday as a nonworking day. They issued
a statement advocating that Sunday be a day off.
