VUKOVAR, Oct 17 (Hina) - Croatia's 19 Roman Catholic bishops, led by the primate of the Catholic Church in the country, Cardinal Josip Bozanic, on Tuesday visited the Ovcara farm, a site of the November 1991 massacre of Croatian
soldiers and civilians and the Memorial Cemetery in the town of Vukovar.
VUKOVAR, Oct 17 (Hina) - Croatia's 19 Roman Catholic bishops, led
by the primate of the Catholic Church in the country, Cardinal Josip Bozanic,
on Tuesday visited the Ovcara farm, a site of the November 1991 massacre of
Croatian soldiers and civilians and the Memorial Cemetery in the town of
Vukovar. The dignitaries, who are taking part in their regular
autumn conference which is being held this time in the eastern town of Djakovo,
said prayers and lit candles for the victims killed during the Homeland
Defence War.
Representatives of associations of war veterans and families whose
members were killed in the war accompanied the bishops during the commemorative
services.
The bishops were also received by officials of the town of Vukovar and
Vukovar County.
