The project, implemented by Rijeka University, the Cork Institute of Technology Ireland and Austria's consortium for the transfer of knowledge and technology Centric Austria International, is financed by the EU's Tempus programme.
The 500,000 euro project will be implemented over the next three years. It is aimed at finding 12 young experts to work together with their colleagues from Ireland, Germany and Austria to set up courses which would focus on cleaner production. The experts would train personnel from the economy and public sectors and nongovernmental organisations and teach them how to apply cleaner production principles. A total of 450 people would be trained over the next three years.
