"All officials of the executive and legislative authorities must be aware of that impression when and if they comment on the correctness of court decisions before they become final, because they are undermining the constitutional position of the judicial authority as independent and impartial," UHS president Djuro Sessa said in the statement.
The Association also recalled that under the constitutional principle of the three-branch system of government, only the judicial authority may decide on proceedings within courts' jurisdiction.
The statement came in the wake of numerous statements and comments, including from state officials, on the case of independent member of parliament Branimir Glavas and his possible detention due to suspicion of war crimes against civilians committed in the eastern city of Osijek in 1991.
