ZADAR, Sept 29 (Hina) - A team of investigators from the Hague-based International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) visited two villages in the hinterland of the central Croatian Adriatic city of Zadar on Friday for
an inquiry into war crimes committed by Serb rebels, supported by the then Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) , against Croatian civilians in November and December 1991.
ZADAR, Sept 29 (Hina) - A team of investigators from the
Hague-based International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY)
visited two villages in the hinterland of the central Croatian Adriatic city of
Zadar on Friday for an inquiry into war crimes committed by Serb rebels,
supported by the then Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) , against Croatian civilians
in November and December 1991. The ICTY investigators visited
Skabrnja where 43 villagers had been killed on 18 November 1991, and Bruska,
where 11 villagers had been murdered in late December 1991.
The ICTY officials, accompanied by the Zadar police, are believed to be
investigating crimes alleged in the ICTY indictment against Croatian Serb
rebel leader Milan Martic.
