The spokesman for the court told Hina that the panel of judges had established that investigating judge Zdenko Posavec had not given a satisfactory explanation and enough reasons for the refusal of the prosecution's request for Glavas's detention.
Last week, the prosecution for the third time asked for taking independent member of parliament Glavas into custody over his alleged pressure on four witnesses. Just as at the previous two times, Posavec explained that none of the 24 witnesses questioned in the investigative procedure had complained to him about being exposed to pressure from the suspect.
Now the investigating judge is ordered to check the prosecution's allegations, collect some more data and then decide on the request in an urgent procedure.
Glavas is charged with torture and murder of Serb civilians in the eastern Croatian city of Osijek in late 1991 during the Homeland Defence War.
