ADRA charity keeps helping returnees in central Croatia

VRHOVINE, Oct 11 (Hina) - A delegation consisting of officials of the OSCE, UNHCR, and UNDP on Wednesday visited the municipalities of Cetingrad, Vrhovine and Plaski (80 kilometres south of Zagreb) and the town of Otocac where the charity ADRA Croatia is carrying out a project called "Post-war Revival and Development".
VRHOVINE, Oct 11 (Hina) - A delegation consisting of officials of the OSCE, UNHCR, and UNDP on Wednesday visited the municipalities of Cetingrad, Vrhovine and Plaski (80 kilometres south of Zagreb) and the town of Otocac where the charity ADRA Croatia is carrying out a project called "Post-war Revival and Development".

ADRA, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency International, has so far helped reconstruct 854 houses in the said area thanks to donations and assistance from the international community.

It also offered assistance to about 3,000 returnees engaged in agriculture and tourism in Lika-Senj and Karlovac counties. This charity has so far donated about five million kuna for the revival of these formerly war-struck areas.

A representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) pledged a donation of about 100,000 euros for the next ADRA project aimed at the reconstruction of 30 more houses in the said areas. The entire project needs some 130,000 euros.
