ZAGREB/BRUSSELS, Sept 11 (Hina) - In 2005 the total employment rate in the European Union for people aged 15-64 was 63.8 per cent, while in Croatia this rate was 54.8 per cent, according to a report published on Monday by Eurostat,
the Statistical Office of the European Communities.

rate in the European Union for people aged 15-64 was 63.8 per cent, while in
Croatia this rate was 54.8 per cent, according to a report published on Monday
by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities. The
Eurostat report, based on the 2005 Labour Force Survey, says that in 2005,
197.5 million people aged 15 or more had a job or a business activity.
The employment rate for women was 56.3 per cent, while the rate for
older people, i.e. those aged 55-64, reached 42.5 per cent.
Employment rates of people in the EU25 ranged from 52.8 per cent in
Poland to 75.9 per cent in Denmark.
