The equipment, worth around two million kuna, will be used in a project of the World Meteorological Organisation concerning the development of the technical capacity needed in using numerical models for weather forecasting and air pollution.
The project will result in more precise weather forecasts and forecasts of the movement of harmful substances in the air, for which the DHMZ lacked adequate equipment until now.
DHMZ head Ivan Cacic said that the Norwegian share of the donation amounted to USD150,000 and underlined the importance of Croatia's participation in the project, launched by the Norwegian Meteorological Institute and the World Meteorological Organisation.
