The funds are intended for demining activities in Bosnia-Herzegovina, to be carried out by the Norwegian National Assistance, the ITF said in a statement on Friday.
Germany is one of the main donors of the ITF, a foundation established eight years ago by the United States and Slovenia. To date Germany has donated close to ten million euros for the ITF's activities.
Since 1998 the ITF has collected 209 million US dollars which helped demine 66 million square metres of mine-infested ground, and rehabilitate most mine victims.
If the inflow of donations continues at the current pace, the ITF expects mine-infested areas in southeast Europe to be completely cleared of mines by 2010.
