SPLIT, Aug 21 (Hina) - The number of passengers using the airport in the biggest Croatian Adriatic city of Split is likely to reach a figure of 1,050,000 until the end of this year, or 15 percent more than in 2005.
SPLIT, Aug 21 (Hina) - The number of passengers using the airport in the biggest Croatian Adriatic city of Split is likely to reach a figure of 1,050,000 until the end of this year, or 15 percent more than in 2005.

During summer holidays, more than 20,000 passengers were leaving from or arriving at the airport on weekends, an airport official, Slavko Roguljic, told Hina on Monday.

Last weekend alone, nearly 27,000 passengers aboard more than 100 airliners passed through Split airport.

There were no major problems in the reception of passengers thanks to the enhanced capacity of the airport's passenger registration system.

During this summer's weekends an average of up to 10 planes per hour landed at the airport, with most airliners arriving from the Scandinavian countries, Germany, Great Britain and France.
