Skare-Ozbolt said that reports about the anti-corruption campaign boiled down to small cases, while major corruption cases, numerous cases of conflict of interest and the signing of harmful contracts remained untouched. Citing major cases of corruption she mentioned the Liburnia Riviera hotel chain and companies such as TLM, Maestral, and Brodosplit.
"So far, a doctor and a head of port authorities have been arrested, but the big fish is in the HDZ and circles around that party," she said.
Commenting on the latest incident on the Croatian-Slovene border, Skare-Ozbolt said that such incidents reappeared every summer or before elections in one of the two countries. She voiced suspicion that incidents were being arranged by the two governments considering what she described as the mild response of the Croatian government in the latest incident.
The DC leader urged the government to start working on real outstanding issues with Slovenia, primarily to inform citizens of what had been done with regard to their bank savings in the Ljubljanska Banka.
