ZAGREB, Aug 6(Hina) - Every sixth Croatian citizen thinks corruption has increased over the past three years while only every tenth thinks it has decreased, according to a GfK Croatia survey.

Only one per cent of those polled think corruption will decrease in the next three years, 13 per cent think it will somewhat decrease, while 40 per cent think it will stay the same.

Fifteen per cent think corruption will definitely increase while 22 per cent think it will somewhat increase.

As many as 94 per cent of those polled feel the fight against corruption remains a big and demanding task for the state.

Fifty-four per cent feel there is more corruption in Croatia than in other European states, GfK said earlier this week, recalling that a World Bank survey revealed that business people in Croatia feel progress has been made in combating corruption.

The GfK survey was conducted in April and included one thousand people.
