The USA appreciates very much the Sabor's role in making decisions on the sending of Croatian Army troops to Afghanistan and considers Croatia's participation in the NATO-commanded international peace force ISAF an important contribution to peace and stability in the entire world, the US ambassador said.
Speaking about Croatia's NATO membership, Seks and Bradtke agreed that it would be a strong message to the entire Southeast Europe. The US ambassador made assurances that Washington would endorse the strongest possible signal of support in that regard at the next NATO summit in Riga, reads the statement from Seks's office.
Ambassador Bradtke conveyed an invitation for the Sabor Speaker to visit the United States in September this year, the purpose of the visit being to become acquainted with working relations between civilian authorities and the military leadership on the federal and local levels.
