SARAJEVO, Aug 18 (Hina) - Two ethnic Serbs wanted by a Croatian court for war crimes committed in Croatia have been placed in extradition detention in the State Court of Bosnia-Herzegovina in Sarajevo, court officials told reporters on Friday.

Savo Salindrija, 51, and Milan Sudar, 49, were arrested by Bosnian Serb police in the northwestern town of Kozarska Dubica on Wednesday following an arrest warrant issued by the Interpol office in Zagreb.

According to the Glas Srpske newspaper, the two men are wanted by the County Court in Pozega, about 180 kilometres east of Zagreb, which had previously sentenced them in absentia to 15 years in prison each for war crimes committed in Croatia.

The newspaper said that during the war Salindrija served as a prison guard in Stara Gradiska and that he was sentenced in 2002 for crimes against prisoners of war. Sudar was sentenced in 2003 for war crimes against the civilian population.
