ZAGREB/THE HAGUE, July 14 (Hina) - At his third appearance before the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, Dragan Zelenovic on Friday pleaded not guilty to all 14 counts of the indictment, Sense News Agency reported.

The former policeman is charged with raping and torturing Bosniak girls and women in Foca in 1992. He was arrested in August last year in Siberia, where he had been hiding under an assumed name, and last week he was expelled from Russia and transferred to Sarajevo, from where he was summarily extradited to the Hague tribunal.

At his initial appearance before the Tribunal on 13 June, Zelenovic exercised his right to delay entering a plea to the charges for 30 days. Responding to questions put by Judge Orie, the accused said that he did "not fully understand the content of the indictment" and that he was "not ready to enter his plea because he does not have a lawyer."

He appeared before the ICTY yesterday, but asked that his entering a plea be delayed once again so that he could consult his attorney. After the consultation, Zelenovic appear before the ICTY this morning for the third time and entered a not guilty plea.

With Zelenovic entering his plea, all conditions for the launching of a procedure for the referral of his case to the State Court in Sarajevo have been met.
