The court's council rejected appeals lodged by Glavas's lawyers, and upheld a decision made by investigating judge Zdenko Posavec who ordered the investigation against Glavas and the other suspect Krunoslav Fehir who are believed to have committed war crimes against civilians in the eastern Croatian city of Osijek.
The spokesman for the Zagreb County Court, Kresimir Devcic, said that the investigation would be launched before the coming summer recess and it would resume in September.
The prosecution has proposed that 45 witnesses be interviewed during the investigation and that additional forensic tests be carried out.
Ante Madunic, a lawyer for Glavas, said that in the coming days the defence team would propose to the investigating judge that more more witnesses be questioned.
In the pre-investigation period Glavas, a member of parliament, refuted all charges which the prosecution pressed against him.
