ZAGREB, June 22 (Hina) - The attorney of independent member of Parliament Branimir Glavas has lodged a complaint with the Zagreb County Court against a decision to investigate his client in connection with war crimes against civilians in Osijek in 1991.

"Due to lack of evidence, we seek that the Zagreb County Court repeal the decision on launching an investigation or return the case to the investigating judge for reconsideration," Ante Madunic told Hina on Thursday.

Zagreb County Court investigating judge Zdenko Posavec launched an investigation against Glavas and Krunoslav Fehir on June 13, at the request of the State Prosecutor's Office, after interviewing both suspects.

Fehir's attorney Anto Nobilo said earlier his client would not lodge a complaint against the investigation given that he admitted to some of the accusations before the investigating judge.

Glavas dismissed all the accusations by the State Prosecutor's Office charging him with the mistreatment of three Serb civilians and the killing of two. He also dismissed accusations that he had his paramilitary in the eastern city of Osijek at the start of the Homeland War in the early 1990s.

Fehir was a member of the First Osijek Battalion, which was commanded by Glavas in 1991. He is suspected of mistreating one imprisoned civilian and shooting at him.

Fehir admitted the crime to the investigating judge, saying Glavas had ordered him to commit it. Glavas dismissed all of Fehir's accusations, calling him a liar and a psychiatric case.
