SARAJEVO, June 19 (Hina) - The commander of the European Union military forces in Bosnia-Herzegovina (EUFOR), general Gian Marco Chiarini, and Bosnian Transport and Communications Minister Branko Dokic in Sarajevo on Monday signed a
protocol regulating the transfer of powers from EUFOR to Bosnian civil authorities regarding the control of part of Bosnia's airspace.
SARAJEVO, June 19 (Hina) - The commander of the European Union
military forces in Bosnia-Herzegovina (EUFOR), general Gian Marco Chiarini, and
Bosnian Transport and Communications Minister Branko Dokic in Sarajevo on
Monday signed a protocol regulating the transfer of powers from EUFOR to
Bosnian civil authorities regarding the control of part of Bosnia's
airspace. Under the protocol on the limited transfer of powers
regarding airspace control, the authorities in Bosnia will control Bosnia's
skies three kilometres above the ground and higher, in accordance with Bosnia's
legislation.
EUFOR said this was an important step in the normalisation of the
situation in Bosnia.
