PRISTINA, June 11 (Hina) - The United Nations chief negotiator in the Kosovo status talks, Martti Ahtisaari, visited the northern Kosovo town of Mitrovica on Sunday, where he called on the Serbs and ethnic Albanians to jointly seek a
solution to the status of the UN-administered province.

the Kosovo status talks, Martti Ahtisaari, visited the northern Kosovo town of
Mitrovica on Sunday, where he called on the Serbs and ethnic Albanians to
jointly seek a solution to the status of the UN-administered province. Asked at a press conference what the future status of Kosovo would be,
Ahtisaari said that he was expecting an opinion of the Serb leadership, and
announced that he would submit a report to the UN Security Council on June 20
on the six rounds of talks held so far between Belgrade and Pristina.
The UN envoy was originally due to complete his three-day visit to
Kosovo on Sunday, but his schedule has been changed to include a visit to
Decani on Monday.
