"We believe that it should be done gradually and that each step should be examined closely. It is also necessary to analyse all strong and weak points, adhering to the basic principles of the Dayton accords and respecting the interests of all the peoples equally," Lavrov was quoted by Russian media as saying.
"There is no point in ignoring the fact that all problems have not been solved. They should be addressed carefully so as not to spoil the results achieved so far," he added.
The Russian minister highlighted the importance of the forthcoming general election in Bosnia-Herzegovina, due in October, saying that it would define further efforts by the international community in the process of solving problems in the country.
