Current political events in Bosnia and Southeast Europe and the integration of these countries with Euro-Atlantic institutions were the main topics discussed during Schwartz-Schilling's first visit to Zagreb since taking up office a few months ago, the Croatian government said in a press release.
Euro-Atlantic integration is the shared goal of Croatia and Bosnia, and regional cooperation and a high level of bilateral relations are very important, Schwartz-Schilling said, adding it was important that Bosnia use Croatian experiences.
Sanader said the efforts Schwartz-Schilling had invested since taking up office had launched a series of positive processes in Bosnia which contributed to the strengthening of Bosnian institutions.
As a neighbouring and friendly country, Croatia wants Bosnia to carry out the reforms required for Euro-Atlantic integration as soon as possible and will help it with its experience, said Sanader.
The High Representative also met Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks, briefing him about the course of constitutional reforms in Bosnia. They also discussed the roles of parliaments and deputies in the creation of a positive climate between Croatia and Bosnia, Seks's office said in a statement.
Seks said Croatia supported those constitutional changes in Bosnia which would make the three constituent peoples equal and which would protect their vital interests.
He added that all outstanding issues stemming from the break-up of the former Yugoslavia must be settled through bilateral agreements.
