BRUSSELS, June 8 (Hina) - The Committee of Permanent Representatives in the European Union (COREPER) in Brussels on Thursday greenlighted the launching of negotiations with Croatia on science and research, the first of 35 chapters in
the accession negotiations.

Representatives in the European Union (COREPER) in Brussels on Thursday
greenlighted the launching of negotiations with Croatia on science and
research, the first of 35 chapters in the accession negotiations.
The ambassadors have just greenlighted the opening and probably closing of the
first chapter with Croatia, a source from EU President Austria told Hina.
The joint position of all 25 EU member countries was that the
negotiations should be launched on Monday. They are expected to be closed on
the same day.
