"Such proposals are nothing but petty politics. I call on them to continue with them because that is a way to lose elections," Sanader told reporters in the government headquarters.
"I respect very much the institution of Parliament Speaker," the PM said, adding that he believed that Seks had played an exceptional role in the war.
Suggestions that Seks should resign from his post and be stripped of immunity for the duration of ongoing criminal proceedings regarding war crimes in Osijek in 1991 were presented by the Social Democratic Party and the Peasant Party.
