ZAGREB, June 4 (Hina) - A 4.1% economic growth, a 5.3% increase in
industrial production, a 1.6% rise in employment and a 2.5% increase in labour
productivity are forecasts for 2006, presented in a new analytical publication
of the Zagreb School of Economics, "Hrvatska gospodarska gibanja" (Croatian
Economic Movements, unofficial translation), which was launched last
Thursday. One of the purposes of the publication is to help business
people and designers of economic policy to make plans, said Zagreb School of
Economics dean Ivan Lovrinovic.
Welcoming the launching of the publication, the head of the Croatian
Chamber of the Economy, Nadan Vidosevic, said this was an attempt by the
academic community to simplify economic topics and bring them closer to the
general public.
The publication will be issued quarterly. Its first issue brings
analyses and forecasts of economic developments and a central topic.
The publication will also compare economic developments in Croatia with
macroeconomic standards.
