Minister Tuomioja underlined the great progress Croatia had made over the several past years and in that context pointed to regional cooperation, according to a press release issued by the Office of the President.
The enlargement of the European Union will be an important topic also during the Finnish EU presidency in the second half of this year, the minister said.
Mesic said that his country should intensify the ongoing reforms in order to step up its integration with the EU.
He reiterated his invitation to Finnish President Tarja Halonen to visit Croatia.
Upon his arrival in Zagreb, Minister Tuomioja visited the Croatian parliament where he held talks with Neven Mimica, chairman of the Sabor's European Integration Committee, the parliament's press office reported.
