The Austrian diplomat discussed the issue of the number of municipalities, which Belgrade and Pristina delegations failed to agree over four negotiating rounds, with the Kosovo negotiating team in Pristina.
Rohan said that once cadastral zones and the number of inhabitants in them was considered, the final number of new municipalities which have to be formed within the Kosovo decentralisation project would be drafted and discussed by experts.
Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu said the Albanian side was considering increasing the number of Serb municipalities in Kosovo.
The number of new municipalities with a majority Serb population is a crucial issue in Pristina-Belgrade negotiations on the decentralisation of the province. Belgrade wants 14 while Pristina is offering only three, plus one municipality for the divided town of Kosovska Mitrovica.
Rohan also held talks with Serbian List for Kosovo leader Oliver Ivanovic, who said some progress had been made in the negotiations, which he said was very important for the return of displaced Serbs.
