Jandrokovic said Croatia and Cuba had no outstanding issues but did not have substantial trade due to distance and unfamiliarity with one another's markets. He said the development of cultural and interparliamentary relations, as well as the mixed commission for economic cooperation, would help augment trade.
Sotolongo presented cultural exchange projects and said the development of cultural ties was the best way to deepen relations in other areas of cooperation.
She said Cuba would host the next summit of the Non-Alligned in September and that an invitation was sent to Croatian President Stjepan Mesic.
An initiative was launched at today's meeting to form Croatian-Cuban parliamentary friendship groups so as to help the development of cooperation.
Jandrokovic accepted an invitation for Croatian parliamentary deputies to visit Cuba, which would be the first between the two countries at this level.
