VIENNA, May 11 (Hina) - A European Union Presidency team, includingCroatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, defeated a European Commissionteam at a five-a-side soccer match in Vienna on Thursday with a resultof 10:7.
VIENNA, May 11 (Hina) - A European Union Presidency team,
including Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, defeated a European Commission
team at a five-a-side soccer match in Vienna on Thursday with a result of
10:7. Sanader scored three goals for the side led by Austrian
Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel. The other team was led by European Commission
President Jose Manuel Barroso.
The proceeds from the event, about 100,000 euros, will be donated to
destitute children in Romania and Moldova.
The match was played ahead of Friday's summit of the European Union, EU
membership candidates, Latin American and Caribbean countries.
