BRUSSELS, May 3 (Hina) - EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn decidedon Wednesday to suspend the Stabilisation and Association negotiationswith Serbia and Montenegro because the country is not cooperating withthe International
Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.
BRUSSELS, May 3 (Hina) - EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn
decided on Wednesday to suspend the Stabilisation and Association negotiations
with Serbia and Montenegro because the country is not cooperating with the
International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. Rehn said
he received a detailed report this morning from ICTY Chief Prosecutor Carla
del Ponte about Belgrade's cooperation with the UN war crimes tribunal in The
Hague, saying that the assessment was negative.
The EU Enlargement Commissioner said negotiation could be resumed as
soon as Belgrade establishes full cooperation with the Hague tribunal.
