On 25 April the Chief State Prosecutor asked to be allowed to launch a procedure against Glavas, a member of the Croatian parliament, and forwarded the request to the head of the Credentials and Privileges Commission the day after, Seks told reporters today.
DORH spokeswoman Martina Mihordin confirmed that the chief state prosecutor had requested a permission to launch a procedure against Glavas for war crimes against civilians.
The spokeswoman declined to speak in detail about the request or about charges against a local leader and former senior official of the Croatian Democratic Union, Glavas.
Seks told reporters the parliamentary Commission had no deadline by which it had to draw a motion and send it to parliament, adding that in his opinion, the commission chairman would call a session before May 10.
Given the practice, the Commission is most likely to propose to parliament to strip Glavas of his parliamentary immunity.
