Upon easyJet's first landing in Split, the airline's manager Philippe Vignon told the press the company has a fleet of 111 planes and 268 flights to 21 European countries.
The southern seaport of Split is the first city in Croatia included among the 76 international airports at which easyJet aircraft land.
A one-way ticket from Split to Gatwick airport costs 31 euros while a two-way ticket costs 62 euros, plus about 20 euros which has to be paid in airport tax on flights to London.
Last year easyJet flew about 30 million passengers in Europe.
