million) in what was described at the openingceremony as the most modern plant of its kind in Southeast Europe.
ZAGREB, April 12 (Hina) - The Croatian firm C.I.O.S. opened a
metal waste recycling plant in Zagreb's industrial suburb of Jankomir on
Wednesday. The company and its German partner, Scholz AG, invested 230 million
kuna (EUR 31.5 million) in what was described at the opening ceremony as the
most modern plant of its kind in Southeast Europe. C.I.O.S. director
and co-owner Petar Pripuz said that the plant would be able to recycle about
200,000 tons of waste a year, or all discarded cars, household appliances and
electrical waste in the country.
The plant was jointly opened by the Minister of the Economy, Labour and
Entrepreneurship, Branko Vukelic, and the Mayor of Zagreb, Milan Bandic.
