SARAJEVO, April 21 (Hina) - Bosnia-Herzegovina, in cooperation with international financial institutions, is planning to ensure USD 286 million for investments into the country's power supply system and better cooperation in this sector with neighbouring countries.

The chairman of Bosnia's Council of Ministers, Adnan Terzic, and the Country Manager of World Bank Sarajevo Office, Dirk Reinermann, on Friday announced investments into projects aimed at facilitating efforts to establish a regional power network in southeastern Europe.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is planning to grant a loan of 116 million dollars, while the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will approve a loan of USD 67 million.

The World Bank is expected to provide USD 36 million, and the German development fund (KfW) USD 45 million.

The rest of the money is to be ensured by power companies in Bosnia's two entities.

A sum of USD 900 million is required to cover the cost of reconstruction of the power supply network in war-hit areas and the latest investment project.
