WASHINGTON, Feb 2 (Hina) - A number of politicians from Croatia attended the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington on Thursday.

The annual religious event was addressed by US President George W. Bush who spoke about the importance of the freedom of religion in the United States, which he said made everybody equally American regardless of whether they were Christians, Muslims, Jews or atheists.

The National Prayer Breakfast was attended by a Croatian parliament delegation led by Deputy Speaker Luka Bebic, Zagreb mayor Milan Bandic, Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) leader and Osijek mayor Anto Djapic, MP Vesna Skulic and Croatia's Ambassador to the USA, Neven Jurica.

The National Prayer Breakfast is held every year on the first Thursday in February and is attended by several thousand US and foreign politicians and religious leaders, mostly of Christian, but also of other religious backgrounds.
